The College Fire

Today was an unusual occurrence in the land of the '2nd floor wifi lab'.

Here I was in front of my laptop, living my life vicariously through SIMS2, choosing my 'destination' vacation neighbourhood' when an alarm sounded off, "Wheewoo, Wheeoo" and the empty square above the door lit up a neon flashing "FIRE" sound.

Years of false alarms in both elementary and high school, made my first reaction a simple shrug and a aggravated eye roll.

My guess is that we had been sitting there for about twenty minutes, before the teachers began to swarm to swarm the hallways, yelling at everyone to evacuate.

I stared down at SIM2.

How inconvenient.

So, we piled out the door, and by 'we' I mean about 300 students all cramming into the stair case to evacuate the building.

Once outside, I eventually found Anthony in the crowd, and the three of us (my friend, Tiff) sat inside of his car to eat.

The "Wheewoo, Wheeoo" changed to 'Blip, blip' and 'Blip, blip' eventually changed to "Attention All Students: An Emergency has been detected."

As of currently, no one really knows what caused the fire or if there even was a fire (it could have been a chemical spill).

My current understanding is that all the basement classes are cancelled.

Too bad my classes are upstairs :(
